Speech And Language Therapy Singapore

SALTS is the professional association for speech and language therapists in Singapore.

We are driven to serve as the voice of speech and language therapy here. We fulfil this mission in partnership with speech and language therapists, governing bodies and public institutions, and international partners.

Our members are speech pathologists who work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools and education centres, community health centres, aged care facilities, private practice, and agencies for those with specific communication or swallowing difficulties.

Our Mission

Advocate for our profession and people with swallowing and communication needs

Advance the quality of our profession through education and empowerment

Build a strong professional community through engagement and collaboration

Professional Representation

SALTS does not govern or regulate Speech Therapists working in Singapore.

Instead, the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) is a professional board under the Ministry of Health which governs and regulates the professional conduct and ethics of registered allied health professionals, in accordance to the Allied Health Professions (AHP) Act 2011.

The AHPC’s functions include the registration and issuing of practicing certificates to registered allied health professionals, setting of standards for training, conduct and practice; as well as to maintain the Register of Allied Health Professionals in Singapore.

Management and Administration

The work of the committee is run completely by a group of volunteer Speech Therapists, supported by a few paid administration staff.
