I had the honour to represent SALTS at the First Belt and Road International Conference for Speech, Language and Hearing in Beijing from 25 October to 27 October 2024.

The purpose and theme of this conference was to connect, communicate and collaborate. Experts from 36 nations around the world spent time sharing current knowledge, advances in technology and scientific findings over the two and a half days.

It was inspirational to hear stories of individuals who have persevered to achieve their dreams of what seemed impossible.

As Speech Therapists, we aim to improve the quality of life of individuals whose communication has been impacted. We have the opportunity to help individuals break down communication barriers and build communication bridges.
