Examining Global Practice Patterns in Swallow Assessment and Intervention
Caroline Brindo (cbrindo@mghihp.edu)

This work will be completed via survey distribution to practitioners that are identified as leaders in the field of swallowing and dysphagia in 15-20 different countries. The survey will gather data about the type/profession(s) of the practitioner(s), demographics of the practitioners, assessment measures ( e.g. screening, clinical, instrumental and standardized vs non-standardized), and intervention measures (e.g. diet modification, exercise based, standardized vs non-standardized measures), as well as optional qualitative data. The data will then be analyzed for relationships according to the research questions described in the prior section. Information will be gathered on the practice patterns in swallow assessment as well as interventions used internationally. This is a data collection via survey study. The participants of this study will be practitioners in various countries that are conducting swallowing assessment and/or interventions.
