Singapore to host 2027 Asia Pacific Society of Speech, Language and Hearing (APSSLH) Conference

Speech and Language Therapy Singapore (SALTS) is proud to announce that Singapore has been selected to host the 2027 Asia Pacific Society of Speech, Language and Hearing (APSSLH) Conference!


This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time that the APSSLH Conference is held in Singapore.


The successful bid was made possible through the joint efforts of SALTS and the Society for Audiology Professionals Singapore (SAPS). Hosted collaboratively by SALTS and SAPS, this conference will bring together a powerful network of professionals dedicated to advancing communication sciences across the Asia-Pacific region.

The APSSLH is a professional organisation for researchers and practitioners around the world who are interested in speech, language, and hearing topics related to Asia Pacific languages and populations, as well as the development of the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology professions in Asia Pacific Regions.


Past APSSLH Conferences have been held in countries across the Asia Pacific, such as New Zealand, Taiwan, China, Japan and Vietnam.


This year, the upcoming 2025 APSSLH Conference will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 12–14 December. With the theme Advancing Speech, Language, and Hearing Health Across Diverse Cultures, the conference will see a wide variety of professionals from across the globe coming together to network and share academic research and innovations. The conference will be hosted by the Thai Speech-Language and Hearing Association (TSLH) in collaboration with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the opening ceremony will be graced by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.



SALTS members also enjoy membership with APSSLH, including:

  • Reduced fees to attend the APSSLH and International Association of Communication Disorders (IALP)’s conferences and scientific events,

  • Opportunity to present your work at the APSSLH’s scientific events such as Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and

  • Opportunity to build a network and collaborate with researchers, practitioners, and students in Asia and Pacific countries, including the US.
